In Merton

There are several financial resources available to graduates in Merton, both to contribute to the costs of graduate research and for cases of financial hardship. All graduates may apply for travel grants (up to £500) and book grants.
If you ever do find yourself in financial difficulty, please do speak to Simon Jones, the Chaplain, who chairs the hardship committee and can advise you on the application process.

In Oxford

The university webpages provide information on fees and funding for graduates, with links to several sources of funding.

The University Gazette is a weekly (during term) publication with a wealth of useful information, including a list of prizes and awards. You can subscribe or consult back issues.


There are several useful websites providing databases and search engines for funding. A few are listed below:

There is also a directory of academic grants, called ‘The Grants Register’ published every year (a copy is held in the Bodleian in the Lower Reading Room)
