MCR Vice President – Pauline Souleau

I am Pauline, your MCR Vice-President. I hail from Bordeaux, France, which means I am what you could call a wine person – although I do appreciate a good pint of ale or cider now and then! When I am not studying fourteenth- and fifteenth-century chronicles, I can usually be found in the MCR, drinking coffee after lunch in college, at one of our events, or tending our lovely MCR Vegetable Patch.
One of my roles for the year is to run the MCR Housing Ballot, making sure that all Merton graduates requiring a room get one and are satisfied with it. I am also in charge of running the MCR newspaper ballot and acting as Secretary during the MCR General Meetings (keeping minutes, handling proxies and motions…). Along with Christophe, our President, I will be representing you at the Joint Committee Meetings.
My involvement within the MCR goes further than just the Housing Ballot and meetings. I love organising special MCR events now and then: Henry, the MCR Treasurer, and I are planning on hosting an English & French cheese tasting in Trinity Term 2012 – an event to be looked forward to! Most importantly, my key role is to be one of the welcoming faces of the MCR, ensuring people are having a great time here at Merton. Feel free to come and talk to me or email me any questions about Merton, Oxford, anything else I can help you with, or any suggestions you may have to make Merton MCR an even greater place!
Vice-Presidentially yours,
Pauline
